Nisha Razack, Staffer

Kyema Razack is a junior at Smoky Hill High School and has been on the NEXT and SmokyNow.com staff for a year.  She also likes to be called Nisha.

Nisha joined Newspaper because writing is her passion and she wanted to learn new skills to make her writing better. While being on staff, she has learned another way that she can make a difference in the world by using something she loves to do. She has also learned the difference between writing professionally verses journaling her experiences in a notebook.

Along with journaling and writing for NEXT Magazine and SmokyNow.com, Nisha also loves to write poetry and discover new music. She listens to any type of music except for classical and most country songs. Her favorite poem is “The Rose That Grew from Concrete” by Tupac Shakur and currently her new favorite songs are “The Fire,” by Kat Grannis, “Kid in Love,” by Shawn Mendes and “Goodbye,” by Who Is Fancy.

Nisha has a twin sister named, Nadia. She was born in Queens, New York before moving Cary,North Carolina the summer before 2nd grade. She has also lived in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and moved to Colorado the summer before 6th grade. She has moved a total of 9 times. Growing up she has had 10 fish, 2 birds, 4 dogs, 3 cats and 2 hermit crabs. She currently has 2 dogs, 2 cats and 2 hermit crabs.

After she graduates from Smoky Hill, she does not know what career she wants to pursue but wants to go to University of Chicago because of how much diversity they have and because she has not been there before. While in college, she wants to study abroad in France.

Nisha hopes, this will be a better year in Newspaper by improving her writing even more and by changing the world, one article at a time.
