Why I don’t Respect Trump

I will not put my faith into someone who is tearing us apart.

Nisha Razack, Staffer

Let me just start off with that I respect everyone’s opinions. I respect the people who voted for him. I respect your decision to support him, so please respect me.

He is not fit to be our President. He is racist, manipulative, and I don’t trust what he says.

I don’t respect the fact that he thinks it’s a great idea to build a wall to separate America from Mexico. Coming from a family of immigrants, I find this executive order really demeaning. I mean this country is built on immigrants.

Not all immigrants are drug smugglers.

They are people. Real people with real stories and real families and real students who don’t want to go through the grueling process of coming here. I get it and I understand it.

My grandma used to be illegal. She flew in from Guyana to Canada and smuggled herself into NY. 20 years later she finally got her visa.

So when you talk about deporting illegal immigrants, remember that they are your family.

Part of your American family. And when one of your family members disrespects the other, it isn’t right to just let it slide and pass them off as “just stupid comments.” You don’t do that to family. You also don’t let them send your family away.
My point is that we are all in this together, so we better start acting like it.
