Kyna Fitzpatrick, Editor
Kyna Fitzpatrick is a junior here at Smoky Hill. This is her third year on the Newspaper team and she is currently an editor on the Newspaper team. She joined Newspaper because she loves to write and tell stories that can impact people’s lives. Kyna also joined Newspaper because it has helped her bring out her leadership skills, her conversation skills, and helped develop her writing skills. Newspaper has been away for her to make new friends, learn how to become a leader, and learn how to make deadlines on time.
In her spare time Kyna likes to enjoy traveling around the world with her family. Traveling allows her to learn different cultures that people have, and try new foods that she might not have experienced before. Kyna loves to do craft projects and to decorate her room with the projects that she has made. She does not know exactly what she wants to major in college, but hopes to find something in the English field.
Kyna does lots of community service for the school and for other organizations outside of school. She is currently enrolled in Smoky Hill’s National Honors Society (NHS) and has been doing community service projects with them. Kyna also makes quits for the African American Quilters and Collectors Guild of Denver, which was recognized by the local ABC affiliate as a 7News Everyday Hero for their accomplishments. Before high school, she was apart of Girl Scouts for about eight years.
Kyna has been playing Piano for about eight years and has played in the National Piano Guild Audition Competitions. She has won two medals after being selected to play in honors recitals as well.
