This week in Ms. Reid’s Health class, students have been working on and presenting a disease research project. Students were asked to research a human disease that could be personal to them or that they found interesting. Students had the option of picking what type of human disease they wanted to present to the class.

Students could either do the project independently or with a partner. Students could also choose from three different ways to present their infectious disease to the class. They could pick from a written report (which had to be four to five pages and give information about the disease) a poster, or a powerpoint.

Both of these methods needed to include a description of the disease and pictures of what the disease looks like. They also had to be neat and organized. The powerpoint had to be at least 10 to 15 slides long. With only be 24 words on each of the slides describing their disease.

The poster needed to be on eight by eleven size printer paper and had to be easily readable and clear. All the research that students did had to be cited and then sent to the Ms. Reid along with the shared powerpoint( if the student choose that option).

When presenting their presentations students had to make sure that their presentation was between three to five minutes. For every minute that a student or group went over, or under the time limit they had five points taken off from their final grade. The oral presentation was an independent grade for students.Students were graded on how well they presented their project and if they had all the information that was needed.

“ We did Schizophrenia as our project,” Sophomore Cole Mcpherson said. “ But we haven’t presented yet.”
