National Honors Society (NHS) Parade of Light Forms are due Wed. 14. NHS students found out last Wed. that they could volunteer for the event if they filled out the form on Schoology and turned it into Mr. Paricio.

FullSizeRender-1NHS students could fill out the form saying that they want to help volunteer for the event Dec. 4. and 5, by going to the NHS page on Schoology, and filling out the form online(found in the resources section) and printing it out. The application also needs a parent signature. Students who want to volunteer must be able to volunteer all the way through the event on both days or on either of the two days. NHS volunteers have a variety of jobs they can choose from to help with.

Students ages 11 and up have the option of dressing up in a costume that will be given to them when they volunteer for the parade. Once in the costume, they get to walk in the parade. Students will get a chance of choosing their costume for the event. Some of the outfits students can choose from is a toy solider, a gift, or a piece of candy. They can also choose to be a Reserve Volunteer that helps with last minute situations and if volunteers do not show up.

Students ages 14 and up can hold the banners in the parade and walk the parade route.

Students ages 16 and up have the option of being a costume assistant and helping the staff get the outfits ready for the people walking in the parade. Students who choose this option must be able to stay the whole length of the parade and after the parade until every outfit has been returned.

Student ages 16 and up can also help out with the costume room support and help make sure that everybody in the parade has been checked in. They can also help people in and out of their costumes, and serve drinks and food to the people in the parade. They also have the option of being a Grandstand Ambassador which helps people find their seats.

A student 18 and up could be a balloon handler and help give out balloons to people in the audience. Snacks and drinks will be provided after the parade, but no food or drinks are allowed during the parade for the students in it. Transportation will not be provided.
