Student’s should be able to take a picture retake at least once according to Rachel Brown, dean of students at Smoky Hill High School. She has a couple of reasons why she thinks that it is important .

Mrs. Brown’s first reason is that the school gets a lot of students who are registered late or weren’t able to come in for the check-in day or the original day that the school pictures were taken. So having kids that have their ID picture on them is very important to identify them. Also having a picture on the school app because security and important people at school need to find an official school photo on their school ID to identify who is in the building.

Another reason why picture retaking is important is because Mrs. Brown thinks that sometimes students take a first picture at the beginning of the year and they’re not happy with it because they don’t like the way they look in it.

“I’ve seen a lot of students who like to cut a piece of paper and cover the photo on their ID or put a sticker over their face . so clearly they’re not happy with it,” Brown said. 

The last opinion was that all students that want to take a retake should have a free chance to take a retake but after plenty of times of wanting a retake, they should then have to pay money for it. Overall, I think that letting kids have picture retakes is important to let students be comfortable wearing there id around with them .
