On September 28 spirit week started. Smoky is encouraging people to dress up and participate in the eventful week.“We get to show spirit for our school and express ourselves,” freshman Alex Ayala said.

Monday, September 28 was America Day. Students wore red, white, and blue, Smoky Hill also had Buff puff game with all grades. There were also powder puff games with all grades also.
Tuesday September 29 was “Blast from the Past” day. Students dressed up in clothing from the past. On the same day they played a movie on the field, High School Musical.

On Wednesday, September 30, we had sports day followed by extreme fest after school. It involved a lot of clubs and afterschool programs.

On Thursday, October 1, it was Dress day at Smoky Hill. After school there was also a homecoming parade. The parade went around Laredo and a lot of clubs were involved in it.
On Friday it is Class Color day where all grades where their certain grade color. After school there is a football game against Grand Junction at Stutler Bowl.

On Saturday, there will be a homecoming dance. The tickets were being sold all week and the guest registration forms are due by Friday, Sept 25.

Homecoming week is a way for smoky to get people to show school spirit while having fun with their friends. It’s a good way to express who students are. “Students wear things without feeling insecure or not confident,” said Ayala.
