Debuting at No.14 on the Billboard Hot 100, the single “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2” by English singer and songwriter “PinkPantheress” and featuring American rapper “Ice Spice” is trending on all media platforms and taking it by storm.

PinkPantheress is an artist heavily influenced by 1990s and 2000s sounds, genres like bedroom pop, drum and bass, and alt-pop are just a few that are recognized in her discography.

To accompany her most recent album release in 2021 “To Hell With It”, “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2” is a track included in her latest EP drop “Take me Home” alongside “Do You Miss Me?” a collaboration with artist “Kaytranada”. Needless to say, fans have been enjoying the song releases.

As a PinkPantheress fan, “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2” is a track that took me some time to enjoy listening to. PinkPantheress has a very unique sound and musical style that is embodied in her music and because of this, it takes a few listens before I thoroughly appreciate it.

“Boy’s a liar Pt. 2” is a track that begins with heavy electronic beats that are present until the end of the song. This makes the song overall fast-paced and upbeat and a contrast to the deeper meaning of the song. PinkPantheress and Ice Spice are depicting their side of heartbreak, that men are toying with their emotions. This meaning is almost hidden by the rhythmic and fresh sound that both artists created but is still very much addressed by both individuals’ clear and concise voices.

Both PinkPantheress and Ice Spice have a relatable feel and aspect to them. Their connection to the younger audience is physically close considering Spice is 23 years old and Pantheress is even younger, at 21 years old. Both successfully built a track that is captivating for younger listeners but also universally listened to by all age groups.

The unique electronic elements complimented with PinkPantheress’s verses and Ice Spice’s rap flow construct the result, that is, “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2”.

“Boy’s a liar Pt. 2” can be streamed on Spotify, Apple Music, Youtube Music and any other music-streaming platform in the US.
