National World Awareness day was created by the Government, that helps spread awareness about important issues that are all over the world on a national level or an international level.

World Awareness presentations are next week on Mar. 26,and 27. Students who wanted to participate in the event had to make a presentation on an issue, culture, or place around the world that they want other students to know more about. They could even do a topic that relates to them personally. “We are talking about poverty and extreme poverty in Uganda, and mostly Africa just in general,” sophomore Taylor Phillips Jones said.

Students who signed up for the presentation are given a time for either Thursday or Friday next week to do their presentation and have to meet all of their requirements throughout the presentations.

For the past few weeks students have been preparing for their presentations next week. Some of the groups have been making sure that their powerpoints or poster boards include all the information that they want to include. While other groups are working on making sure that they have all their speeches worked out and any games or interactive activities that they want to include in their presentation are finished.

“We are practicing our powerpoint presentation, and then we have a few games that we do with people in the class so we are practicing that,” Taylor Phillips Jones.

Students could do their presentations with other groups, or by themselves. Some students can even bring in a parent to help them present their issue.“Katie, Jamie, Natalie, and Andrea are all in my group,” Taylor Phillips Jones.
