Prepping For The ACT

Good Luck to all Juniors taking the ACT. Stay Strong.

The ACT is now upon the Juniors of Smoky Hill and with it may come many stresses. The test is often a determining factor on whether or not you get into the college you want and scoring higher can lead to more scholarship offers. In order to score as high as you want or need to, prepping in the correct ways will help immensely.

Getting enough sleep, eating properly and keeping stress levels low are of course good and necessary to do before going into the test. Yes they are necessary but it is not always the easiest thing to accomplish when taking into account how many other things there are to worry about with this test.

One main struggle we face when the ACT approaches is to balance studying for the test, to keep up with your school work and deal with the everyday struggles of being in High School. Junior Lewis Washington will also be taking the ACT and has been prepping for it while trying to stay stress free.

“Out of ten, I’m around a six.” Said Lewis Washington when asked how nervous he was for the ACT.

Washington is also doing the method test prep to prepare for it while staying focused and trying his hardest.

“It simulates what the ACT will actually be like.Said Washington.

Some students are only worried about the score that they receive in the end but Washington feels differently.

I’m just trying to do the best I can, I’m not too worried about my score right now.” Said Washington

Even though the score does matter it should not be the main thing students are concerned about. All students should try to their best of their ability. That is all that matters.
