The Verdict is Guilty

Mcok Trial is a club is about the legal system and upholding the law.

Mock Trial is a club that meets Mondays from 2:30 p.m. until 3:15 p.m in room I-415. Students act as witnesses and lawyers in a case that the Colorado Bar Association creates for them. Mock Trial also reenacts real trials with the students acting out with different roles. They then go to the Arapahoe Court House and act out the trial with kids from other schools who are either defendants or prosecutors for the case.

The club accepts all students as there is no required age or class needed to join. Although this is mainly a student-run club, the teachers are there to show them how to read and understand cases and how to perform them. “We have been looking at old cases and how mock trial works,” junior Mika Post said.

Students in Mock Trial feel that the club is a fun and enjoyable thing to participate in. The students have made friends and gotten closer to friends with the same interests in Mock Trial. “ I like that it is a fake trial and I like that stuff. I have also gotten closer to friends I had before I joined the club,” junior Trinity Cezra said.
