In the upcoming week, Cherry Creek Schools District is celebrating Teacher Appreciation for all the incredible educators in Cherry Creek Schools District helping students everyday in various ways.
Yet, it seems like their current plan of only posting on social media about inspiring teacher features and heartfelt thank you messages from students and parents might not be enough to truly show appreciation.
I believe that Cherry Creek Schools could be doing way more to commemorate the teachers working in our district by like organizing a special event where teachers are publicly recognized and celebrated in front of the community.
This could include speeches, performances, or even small gifts as tokens of appreciation. Or another simple way of showing appreciation could be by posting posters all over the school about teacher appreciation week reminding students and staff.
The district could also provide opportunities for students and parents to directly engage with teachers. They could organize a meet-and-greet or create a platform online for open discussions where teachers can share their experiences, challenges, and successes instead of just thanking teachers online.
Although, posting on social media is a great idea, Cherry Creek Schools District should do more than just posting on social media to appreciate teachers.
They should plan activities where everyone can interact with teachers, have special events to recognize them. This way, the district can show how much they value the hard work teachers do every day for schools.
