Family Career Community Leaders Of America

FCCLA meets in room II-701 after school on Mondays from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.

FCCLA stands for Family Career Community Leaders of America and focuses on community service to help different types of families.

There are two sections of FCCLA that students can participate in: the in-class section, and the club section of the program. Even kids who are in the class have an opportunity to get in on some of the community service projects and participate in some of the activities that the club does.

This year the club is focusing on fashion and cooking. The money earned has gone to various organizations. “We have donated to the Denver Rescue Missions, to the Share Our Strengths, Miracle Minute, School Thanksgiving Basket Project, and The March of Dimes,” sponsor Cyn Hardy said.

Along with the organizations the club has donated to, they have also done fundraising to help out the club and some of the student here that may be in need.

“This fall the club sold Butter Braids and the money goes to two things. It helps when I have some students in need in the classes and then we could offer scholarships to the students. The second thing is we donate to all these family related causes,” Hardy said.
