Affordable Ways to Keep it “Trendy”

Devin’s Tips for easy ways to stay “Trendy”

Devin, Guttman

There are a lot of things that make it hard to fit in, so here are a few tips to keep it trendy.

I’ve noticed that messy buns. baggy cloths and simple makeup are definitely in right now. A lot of girls say they spend hours getting ready, but it’s true that simple looks really can be simple.

The key to the best messy bun is hair that isn’t at its cleanest stage; It’s gross but true. The day before you usually wash your hair is the perfect day to try out a messy bun.Make sure you go easy on the hairspray, because too much will make your hair too knotty and it’s bad for your scalp. My favorite hairspray is the Aussie Mega Hairspray. It varies between 1.99 and 3.99 dollars and is sold at most drugstores.

Simple makeup can also be easy. Some girls get pretty intimidated by makeup but if used correctly and can give anybody that “Little Extra Somethin’”

Take a brown eyeshadow and throw it into the crease of your eye with any fluffy brush. If you don’t have a fluffy brush try using a clean paintbrush. It works the same way. Put a lighter shadow on the lid with your finger and some mascara and you are good to go. It takes less than a minute. My top favorite makeup brand is E.L.F because their products vary between 1.00-10.00. E.L.F is sold at target and occasionally at the dollar store and can be found online.

Do you ever look at the girl next to you and think, “Wow she probably spent 100 dollars on her shirt alone!” But what you didn’t know was her entire outfit was not only extremely trendy but under twenty dollars. She most likely went to Plato’s. They sell very trendy clothes that are top brands and lightly used for very affordable prices. A plaid shirt from Forever 21 that started out at 20.00 is now 8.00 and in great shape.

Trendy doesn’t always have to be expensive. There are plenty of ways to get around the wasted paychecks and lack of college savings.
