The Chamber, String, and Symphony Orchestras joined together Tuesday night to perform “A Winter Orchestra Concert.” With over 100 members of the orchestra, and a month of preparation, orchestra spent one and a half hours playing holiday favorites along with some more advanced compositions.

“The Emerald Falcon,” one of the more advanced compositions, had Darren Wirth, Smoky Hill’s accompanist playing along with the orchestra. Many students enjoyed the experience of playing in front of the audience.

“I think [the best part] is just actually playing the music itself because it brings a lot of emotion within the music,” sophomore Alston Sibuea violin player in the Symphony Orchestra said. “[There is] lot of emotion. When you play it, you feel that you are giving that sense of joy to the audience just because you’re playing it.”

The three orchestras each played separately at the beginning of the concert and at the end, played as a whole to finish the show.
