With a continuing pattern of snow and heat, students may find themselves bringing out the summer shorts and shirts. Just as students become used to the heat, the snow comes back. In order to make the most of the random snow days, there are many things students can do.

Sledding: In Colorado, there is a surplus of hill and bumps in the terrain. Students can use these hills, along with the snow, to go sledding. Sledding is an age old tradition that only requires a trash lid or some cardboard. Students can decorate the cardboard or cut and arrange it to make it go even faster.

Make Snow-Cream: Students also can make a little treat known as snow-cream. In order to make snow-cream, students will need five cups of fresh snow, one cup of milk, half a cup of sugar, and half a teaspoon of vanilla. Combine all of the ingredients, except the snow, until the sugar dissolves. Then slowly add the mixture to the snow and wait for it to thicken. Snow-cream is a fun and yummy way to use the snow around them.

Giant Snowball: Nothing is better than a snowball, except for a giant snowball. Students can gather their friends and have contests to see who can make the biggest snowball. Then pick up the snowball and see who can throw it the farthest without the snowball breaking apart.
