Secret Habits for A Great School Year
Starting from square one isn’t always easy.

Even if you were born a mastermind or have the brain of genius, getting good grades isn’t always a walk in the park. I don’t think I need to remind any student that schools subjects are difficult and at times seem impossible to understand. Even if you do understand the subject, you still need to discipline and apply yourself to do homework, projects and set time for studying, which isn’t the easiest thing in the world. Getting the top grade because you’re naturally smart at a topic is rare, sure that is the case to some people but not always.“Smart people” who are consistently getting good grades and a good GPA still struggle too. Want to know how they manage to stay on top of their game? They have a special thing called ‘study habits’ which can be an incredibly nice thing to have during the school year. So if you’re serious about getting better grades, read on.
They’re organized:
Successful students are organized. They keep everything in a specific spot in their backpack or locker and aren’t scrambling through their things to find notes a couple hours before a test. They also don’t forget to write down homework, which can be easily forgotten.
They do extra credit even if they don’t need to:
Many teachers offer extra credit throughout the school year and many students ignore it until they notice they are either falling behind or failing the class and need something to boost them up ASAP. Straight A students act as if the extra credit is part of the coursework instead of thinking of it as extra work on top of what they already have.
They aren’t afraid to ask for help from their teachers:
Sometimes it’s embarrassing to admit that you don’t understand something in class, especially when everyone looks at you, but if we’re all being honest with ourselves, asking questions when we don’t know something can and will help help us in the long run. For example when we’re taking a quick pop quiz or are taking the final exam at the end of the semester and what you didn’t understand is one of the big questions on the test. So no matter how silly the question you feel may be, chances are there are students in the class wondering the same thing.
They practice positive thinking:
Not everyone loves school however, many of us needs to complete it in order to get a good job later in the future, so why not make the best of what you can now? Teachers always seem to be giving us homework every day which ends being large stack of papers by the end of the week so it almost seems impossible not to complain about it, this is when we have to take a step back and have a more positive outlook on how important school and learning are and although there is a lot of homework, it isn’t the end of the world.
