Pass Interference

Should the NFL be able to Review Pass Interference Calls?

The huge controversy in the National Football League (NFL) right now is whether or not they should review pass interference calls. The problem with doing this would be that it would add extra time onto the games which the NFL has already lost viewers this year because of it. Adding a few minutes onto games would not hurt anyone as long as it is for something that can only help limit the effect refs have on games.

The call pass interference can completely change how a game ends up and it has for a good amount of time. Now that we have the technology to improve the way we call things I think it would only be right for us to use it.

Just last week a pass interference call that was not made changed the whole output of a game. The Seattle Seahawks got a horrible no call to go their way against the Atlanta Falcons this week in a 26- 24 victory. If the Falcon’s would have got that call they would have been in field goal range and would have had a chance to win that game.

As an avid viewer of the NFL I think that those type of calls that can change a game entirely should have the right to be reviewed. By not being able to review this call we are putting an incredible amount of pressure on referees to make a call based on what they see, even though we have cameras getting video of plays like this from every angle.

The NFL is an example for other countries and other leagues and we want to give them a good model to follow. So if that means that we need to add five to 10 minutes on to games then I think it is necessary for use to do. Even if that means taking a few commercials out to make the right calls and play the game correctly.
