Sarah J Maas, a fantasy writer whose book you should pick up next

Who’s the greatest fantasy writer of all time? You might answer my question with JK Rowling, Neil Gaiman, Stephanie Garber, or Holly Black.

Or maybe other prominent writers. Well, what if I told you it is none of these talented, successful writers? What if I told you the greatest hadn’t been given a household name status yet?

I believe Sarah J Maas is the greatest fantasy writer of all time. Her work is overlooked and underrated.

Sarah has written 15 books expanded into 3 series: Throne of Glass, Crescent City, and my personal favorite, A Court of Thorns and Roses.

Each book has landed her in the New York best-selling author selling a total of 12 million copies worldwide, printed in 37 different languages.

She is what I like to call the Stan Lee of fantasy writing. Looping her series together through subtle intricate details, through a multiverse of fantasy worlds, and for that, she should get more praise.

She has been nominated for seventeen awards winning five in total for GoodReads choice best young adult author and good reads choice for best fantasy and has an upcoming show on Hulu for one of her most popular books.

Yes, JK Rowling has gotten many awards, but let me ask you this question. How many books besides Harry Potter has she received awards for?

If you look at Sarah J Maas she has received awards for different books in different series. Yes, they sometimes intersect but it’s different characters and plots.

She is a master of developing her plot and creating realistic and witty characters in tough situations. In her books, she is very inclusive, showing strong LGBTQ characters of racial and biracial heritage of any size and body type. She also includes Judaism symbols in her books.

This is why she is one of the greatest fantasy writers of all time, she is truly underrated. I believe that everyone should read her books.
