Why homework shouldn’t be a requirement in a student’s schedule

The alarm goes off and the student gets up for another day at school.  Gets ready and leaves.  Gets to school and goes throughout the day getting a pile of homework to do when they get home. Walks in the door and sits down for hours doing homework. After tiredly working throughout their day, they go to sleep late at night or even early in the morning and get up to start the cycle again.

Students work very hard throughout the day to get schoolwork done just to have to take it home in the end. With how long the school day is and also everything that goes on after school students have to find a time to get their homework done. That time is usually before bed. They stay up late to complete their work and go to bed late or even early in the morning.  Making it a harder day to get up and go through the day.

After school, so many students have a sport or club that they attend. When finished they are tired and are not really thinking that they should go home and work on homework. They would probably hang out with friends and do something with their family and might not have time until the very end of the day.  Causing students to run out of time and rush or spend way too long on their homework which makes it harder to get through school and clubs during the day. Students might also have jobs and/or clubs making it even harder.

Some homes are not safe or reliable places where someone is able to complete their homework. They might not have a place where they can focus because of family or what might happen in their homes. Causing these students to have to work harder just to finish work and even just be able to rest.

So with all the problems that the students might face in their daily life, I believe it would be better if students didn’t have to get handed more work to do outside of school. Making less pressure to put on the students when they can just go home and have time to relax or not have just one more thing to worry about.
