Halloween on a school day

Students are allowed to wear costumes to school that still follows school dress codes

October has just begun and with that being said it is time to pick out your costumes for Halloween. Halloween will be Monday October 31. Unfortunately we have school but students are allowed to wear their costumes to school.

Principal Chuck Puga said costumes must be school appropriate.

“Am I going to worry about costumes? No. Am I going to worry about inappropriate costumes? Yes,” Puga said.

Students must abide by the school dress code. This means students aren’t allowed to:
-wear hats
-face paint
-wear bandanas
-wear masks
-BODY MUST BE COVERED

If your face is covered then the school faculty can not tell who you are and that creates an issue for safety for the students and teachers inside the building.

“These are things that just because it is a holiday we can not just throw out because our primary concern is always first and foremost the safety of the students,” said Puga.
