Final Days as a Senior

Feelings on final days

T'Gan Maxey, Staffer

As I enter these final days of high school, I have a feeling of sadness as I think of my time ending here at Smoky Hill. I came in as a smooth faced, bright eyed freshman looking forward to my four years going by fast, but now I am a bearded young man wishing he could go back and start all over.

Smoky Hill will leave a lasting impression on me. All of the memories and friends I have made inside these walls are things I cannot forget. I have never seen a school with so much spirit and energy in my life.

I will miss our pep assemblies and spirit weeks. I will miss the way we came together to mourn the lose of our fellow buffaloes. So much love flows through this building it is crazy.

Looking back at my four years here I have to say, I am thankful for having such caring and amazing teachers. Teachers that cared about how I was doing and if I needed help. Teachers like Mr. Weissman who have become like second parents to not only me, but a lot of us.

I am also wanna say thank you to our principal, assistant principals and other staff members who love and care for Smoky Hill just as much as the students.

These four years have been long and hard, but I am grateful for everyday I have spent at Smoky. I am grateful for every moment of laughter and joy I have experienced here. Thank you Smoky for preparing me for my life after high school. Thank you for teaching me life lessons and letting me get to know so many amazing people. Thank you.
