The yearly Cherry Creek School District auditions for honor band is coming up. Auditions are Wednesday Nov. 9 at Cherry Creek High School. Any student from CCSD high schools can audition to be in the band, only 50-60 students will be selected.

“ Last year we had 16 students from Smoky Hill get in.” Mr. Ruffert, Smoky’s band teacher said. “Which is the second largest amount, Cherry Creek had a couple more students than us.”

Once students are selected, students will report to Smoky Hill to have practice with the former director at Indiana University, Ray Cramer. Practices will be Jan. 30 and Feb. 3-4. The concerts will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday Feb. 4.

“It is a great opportunity for our students to collaborate with other students that are dedicated musicians from other high schools and work with a really great director.” Said Mr. Ruffert.

For more information about auditions and important dates, students should go to the band room and talk to Mr. Ruffert.
