20151002_101439 (3)30 percent of students end their relationships over text or have been broken up with over text as stated in an article my CNN Money.

Majority of teens do not think that breaking up over social media or text is better. “ I disagree on them (break up’s over text) because if you’re breaking up with a significant other or like a girlfriend you should do it face to face,” Sophomore Charlie Pedderson said.

Only eight percent of 13 to 17-year-olds who have dated someone in the past say they have met online, mostly through facebook. Over 18 percent of students with dating experience, have experience or initiated a break up by sending a private message as stated in an article by CNN Money.

Students say they break up over text because they are less likely to “feel bad.” Break ups in person are considered to be the most accepted way of breaking up. “If I had, I would send a huge apology explaining why and the reason why I sent the text instead of doing it face to face,” Sophomore Jacquelyn Woodring (Jacquie) said.

“I feel like it’s inconsiderate and rude to do that because you [have] been with that person and you actually been face to face with that person than why don’t you end it face to face,” Jacquie said.
