The annual winter wish week is approaching fast. This year’s winter wish week will take place on January 27-February 1. Wish week is a whole week where the school focuses on donating money to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This year the kid we are raising money to support is named Taurean. Tauren is a 12 year old that is battling bone cancer. Taurens one true with is to be able to go to Greece.  

As a part of with week have have many different ways of raising money for Tauren. One of the ways we raise money is by having restaurant nights. The first restaurant night we have this year is Jimmy Johns. Jimmy Johns will take place on Monday -January 27, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. The Jimmy Johns is on Quincy and Buckley. 

The next restaurant we have as apart of this week is Chick-Fil-A. Chick-Fil-A will take place on 

Thursday, January 30, on Parker and Chambers. This restaurant doesn’t have a specific time frame and you can go all day.

The last restaurant for just this week itself is Smashburger. This will be on Saturday, February 1, on Parker and Havana. Just like Chick-Fil-A this will take place all day.

Just like other wish weeks there are many events going on throughout the week at the school as well. Here is the schedule:

Monday – January 27

 The Dress Day is, Go Abroad (International Day). That night is the Trivia Bowl at 7:00 pm in the Smoky Hill Cafeteria.Its three dollars per person and you pay at the door. 

 Tuesday – January 28
The Dress Day is  – Go Team (Sports Day). After school there will be a  Dodgeball Tournament starting at 7:30 p.m. in the West Gym.  It costs five dollars to play and three dollars to watch.

 Wednesday – January 29 

The Dress Day is  – Go Home (Colorado Day).

Then we hold a Miracle Minute during 2G  in order to raise any money possible. After school we have  DECA Marketplace, in the East Gym, from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. The tickets cost five dollars for 25 tickets.

 Thursday – January 30

The  Dress Day is  – Go Buffs (Old Wish Week or Smoky Hill Shirts). After school is Mr & Ms Smoky Hill at 7:15 p.m. in the auditorium.Tickets are five dollars at the door. 

Friday – January 31 

The Dress Day is  – Go Taurean (Wish Week Shirt). The  Pep Assembly will start at 2:15 p.m. in the  West Gym. Lip Dub will start after school at 3:30 pm. 

Saturday – February 1

On Saturday we have the Space Jam Dance.The dance starts at 8:00 p.m. and will go to 11:00 pm in the  West Gym. Tickets for the dance are $10 with Activity Fee Paid and $15 without Activity Fee. Tickets go on sale from Wednesday to Friday during lunches and are sold at the door on the night of the dance.
