The Fifa World Cup is a tournament of all the countries for soccer. It is watched by millions cheering for their country or team. At Smoky Hill, it is a very big topic of discussion. So let’s see what these students have to say about the 2022 Fifa World Cup and what team they cheer for.

“I am cheering for Mexico because some of my family is from there I love the spirit the team has,” Sairy Barajas (9) said.

Barajas enjoys watching the World Cup because soccer “is my everything I love playing and watching it.”

“I’m cheering for Brazil,” Parker Gnrya said (11).

Gnrya ended up watching because it is “the most popular sport in the world” and ended up cheering for Brazil because they are currently being favored to win.

“I do watch the world cup and I’m cheering for Argentina,” Sophia Shea (9) said.

Shea watches in order to support Argentina because it is her country and she loves supporting her country for soccer.

All of the students root for different teams but all share a love for the game in different ways. Whether it be going to a restaurant to watch and celebrate with those alike, watching at home cheering for the team with family or going to a game to cheer and support your country. They all love the game, the players and the sport. Even though they cheer for different teams, they are still united together as people who love soccer.
