IMG_7458  Did you think your school is the loudest at school pep assemblies? Well, you thought wrong, because today at 2:30 our homecoming pep assembly beat the world record for the loudest at 121 decibels busting the previous record of 118 decibels.

It’s not a secret that Smoky’s school pep assemblies are filled with competition between the freshman through senior classes. However freshman, sophomores, juniors, and our seniors got together chanting, “S-m-o-k-y Smoky,Smoky, Hill Side pride!”

Three times in a row, everyone screamed their lungs out while Scott Cohen helped cheer Smoky on. He  watched the audio meter spike up to 121 decibels, beating the Guinness Book of World Records for the loudest school.

121 decibels could be the equivalent to the noise of a live loud rock concert, a chainsaw, and or a thunder clap. Way to go buffs!
