The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was released in theaters Friday, May 2, 2014. It was action packed, adventurous and in my opinion a great movie overall. It fit in like a puzzle piece with The Amazing Spider-Man which was released Friday, June 30, 2012.

Peter Parker, played by Andrew Garfield, is older now and is graduating from high school, along with Gwen Stacy, played by Emma Stone.

At the end of The Amazing Spider-Man, Peter promised Gwen’s father, George Stacy, played by Dennis Leary, that he would stay away from Gwen because there was a good chance of Gwen getting hurt. At the beginning of the second movie, that promise disappeared for a moment, but after Peter realized that he was getting involved with Gwen, he remembered what George had said to him before he died, so he left Gwen alone.

Another thing that I wasn’t expecting during the movie was a new villain Max Dillon, also known as Electro, played by Jamie Foxx. Whenever it comes to superhero movies, I have to be honest, the villains are usually my favorite. Electro’s power was very interesting to me. Every time he got mad or frustrated, his powers really shined. He was able to cause massive power outages and blackouts. He got this power by accidentally losing his balance and falling into a tank of electric eels.

As far as acting, I thought the cast did pretty well. It was a little dramatic at times, but there were a few scenes in the movie where I did let a few tears drop. There were also many moments during the movie where I laughed.

Overall this movie had me on the edge of my seat and I was not disappointed at all. Infact, I would recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys action packed adventurous movies.
