Get a sneak peek of what’s coming for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory this Thursday during fourth period. Teasers will give you a taste of what the drama team has done to get this show on the road.

Senior Sasha Shadrina and Freshman Nawal Assougdam talk about what’s going to happen on teaser day.

“For the last couple of weeks we have been working hard on all elements of the show. We have rehearsed pieces every day after school, and now we just have to run it a few times and we’ll have it down,” Assougdam said.

The teasers will not be perform

ed for just Smoky kids like the musical, it will be performed for elementary school kids and middle school kids.

“We will be performing the whole show for the first, second, and fifth graders, and middle school acting classes. For Smoky Hill, we will be performing the entire first act and the dances from the second act during fourth period only,” Shadrina said.

Teasers will be the first audience the actors and actresses perform the show in front of.

“I think teasers will be a blast! Performing in front of an audience for the first time is always exhilarating, you’re able to feel the energy from the audience radiating onstage and it really propels the performers to go all out. Especially performing for the younger kids, they tend to react more than the high schoolers,” Shadrina said.

Usually a whole show would be about two hours, but they have to cut it down since it is just a little teaser on what is going to come.

“Teasers are normally half an hour or 45 minutes, not too long, we don’t want to spoil too much,” Assougdam said.

Don’t miss out on teasers this Thursday, and look out for the show on February sixteenth and seventeenth!
