TCAP Prepardness

Freshmen and sophomores are preparing to take the TCAP.

With the Transitional Colorado Assessment Program, or TCAP, taking place on Mar. 11-13, students need to be prepared. Freshmen and sophomores are the only studentsIMG_0059(1) who have to take the TCAP this year.

Before the day of testing, students should relax and not stress too much. Do not study the night before the test. Freshmen and sophomores should also go to bed early and get at least eight to nine hours of sleep.

On the days of the test, students should eat a breakfast that is filling and full of nutrition, because the school will not be providing lunch. This will keep energy levels high and prevent unwanted distractions, such as hunger. The cafeteria will also be serving breakfast from 6:40 A.M to 7:10 A.M. Snacks and water will be provided during testing.

Throughout the test, students can expect to find difficult questions. Skip these questions, and answer them later. Fill in every question, because there is a 25 percent chance of filling in the right answer.

Freshman Abigail Moffitt believes that students need to be focused and not worry about the time limit.

“[Students should] take their time and get a lot of sleep the night before,” Moffitt said.
