Miranda Velasquez, Staffer
Miranda Velasquez is a freshman and in her first year on the newspaper staff, she was born in February. She is interested in world languages such as Spanish. In her first year on the newspaper staff, Miranda hopes to develop her writing skills and social skills. She hopes to create a bond with the Smoky Hill community by reporting on issues and inequities prevalent in the community and society. Miranda was born and raised in Aurora, Colorado. She is bilingual, her family is from El Salvador and she has a Cane Corso who is 2 years old. She lives with her dad and brother and she loves Mexican food. Miranda is excited about this school year and about meeting and interviewing new people. Outside of school, Miranda loves to go out with her friends and have fun, like going to parties and quinceaneras with her family and friends. She also likes to go to the mountains with her family and spend time with them. Overall, Miranda is eager to learn about the people of Smoky Hill and is excited about this school year and meeting new people.
