For the past four years, senior girls have been decorating white overalls with Smoky Hill paraphernalia, and this year is no exception. With the senior class photo quickly approaching this upcoming Friday, Adriana Chuecas joined up with a group of her friends to take part in this school tradition.

“I thought the ones that the senior girls last year made were really cute,” Chuecas said.

The tradition first popped up in 2009 when a group of girls sat front row in decorated white overalls. Students decorate them themselves and can add designs to make them more personal.

“I put my name down my pant leg because people always think that my last name is funny so I decided that I’m going to own it,” Chuecas said. “I also put money signs on them because I’m all about the money. I’m kidding, but they really do have money signs.”

Many students take pride in their design, spending hours making the overalls perfect to show off who they are.
“Personally, I think they’re pretty cool, but I guess that’s up to what your opinion of what cool is,” said Chuecas.
