Friday, March 20th, a woman was coming out of the U.S. Bank on Peoria St., when a suspect came up to a woman and took her purse by force. Unfortunately she fell to the ground causing her a injury.

“This makes my extremely uncomfortable because my grandma lives over there,” sophomore Raven Scott.  “Of course, she goes to that bank and it could’ve very easily been her. It’s like people aren’t safe anywhere now a days, and I wish I didn’t have to be like that.”

According to 9News, after the suspect took the victim’s purse, he drove away in a 2002 gold four-door Chevrolet Malibu with the Colorado license plate, 111-VBD. He was described by the victim as a white male in his 20s, about 5’8″and about 160 pounds with a medium build.

“Things could have been a lot worse,” sophomore Roxanne Crews said. “Somebody could have gotten killed, but it’s still serious because it happened to somebody. Nobody ever expects things like that to happen to them, and the fact that he got away makes me feel a little unsafe.”
