Starting September 28, Smoky is in full spirit mode, and students will be participating in events such as America day, powder puff football, buff puff volleyball, blast from the past, film on the field, sports day, spirit bus, extreme fest, and so much more. All these events are leading towards one big day, homecoming.

Homecoming 2015, is October, 3 featuring party in the USA.

“It will definitely be a fun experience, that I’m kinda looking forward to it” freshman Chryssa Duran said.

As the theme of homecoming is Miley Cyrus’s song, “Party In The USA”, “there are going to be some guys trying to dress up like Miley Cyrus in the music video, like jean booty shorts.. and scariness,” freshman Dai’Onna Kennedy said. “I’m not really looking forward to that.”

The traditional USA colors are red, white, and blue, which follow the theme of party in the USA, but the freshman have other outfits in mind. “My dress is more of a turquoise and white”, said Duran. “I will do what I did at the formal in eighth grade, and wear jeans and a dressy-ish shirt, possible with suspenders and a bow tie”, said Kennedy. “I’m gonna wear a black lace dress” said Jordan Dye.

As spirit week, is approaching closely, the freshman have mediocre expectations, and are planning to dress as they see fit, no matter what the theme may be.
