Miracle in a Minute

Students all throughout Smoky donated money during Miracle Minute on Thursday.

On Thursday, Dec. 19, in second period, students raised $1,522 to donate towards Claire Davis’s medical bills during Miracle Minute. Davis is currently in a medical coma due to the Arapahoe High School shooting.

Miracle Minute is an event where a teacher passes around a brown paper bag, and students drop in their donation.

The event, sponsored by StuGo, is to show support for Davis and her family.“We wanted to make a difference for the victim [Davis],” junior Kathleen Russo, a member of StuGo, said.

Students, like freshman Sneha Thomas, stepped up to help Davis by donating money. “I feel like we should support her,” said Thomas. “We are here for you.”

All proceeds will be sent to the Davis family to help with medical bills and anything that might be needed.
