The Queen of Shadows by Sarah Maas: Celaena is the Queen of Terrasen. She is hung up on getting revenge on two men who she blames for ruining her life. Before she can accept her throne, she has to learn all these dark truths and a debt to be paid. The throne she believes is evil and she is reluctant to go back.
Winter by Marissa Meyer: Winter is loosely based on Snow White. Princess Winter possess special powers that allow her to control what people see and do called the Lunar Gift. She is also mentally ill and often hallucinates. Queen Levana is Winterś evil stepmother and plots against her. Winter is hunted by someone Levana hired to kill her and she goes through obstacles to run for her life.
Armada by Ernest Cline: Zack is like any other young boy who plays video games. He specifically plays a game called Armada, a game with the plot of an Alien invasion, and gamers protect the Earth. One day he finds out that the whole game is real and was a test programmed to see which gamers would be the best pilots to protect Earth. Zack is stationed on the moon. He is soon entrusted with the task to protect everyone.
The Amazing Book is Not on Fire by Dan Howell: This book is about two awkward guys from the internet who share what’s going on in their heads and welcome you into their world.
She is Not Invisible by Marcus Sedgwick: Laureth Peak is a special girl who has a gift of looking for patterns, and recurring events taught to her by her father. When he goes missing she and her brother go on a mission to look for him using Peak’s skills.
Most Dangerous: Daniel Ellsberg and the Secret History of the Vietnam War by Steve Sheinkin: A secret history of the Vietnam War is revealed called The Pentagon Papers. This book includes everything the government had done during the war.
The Selection by Kiera Cass: This book is about a young girl who enters into a contest to wins a future King’s heart in hopes of becoming Queen and providing for her family. The only problem is that she loves another.
The Rose Society by Marie Lu: Adelina is known and feared as the White Wolf. She is hungry for revenge against the Axis. Adelina and her sister look for other elites so they can build their army.
The Program by Suzanne Young: Rackley is a member of the United States Marshal Service and has to rescue the daughter of a producer from Hollywood from a cult. He goes in undercover to save her without being pulled in by the cult.
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo: This series takes place in the same world as Grisha books but has a different plot and storyline.
