LET’S GO BUFFS

Brenton Force, Staffer

Imagine, it’s Friday September 14th. The clock just struck 2:15 pm and you are being dismissed from class. Now you have a choice to make and that choice is to go to the pep assembly or to ditch it. This is a difficult decision to make for some kids. They could go and show school spirit or go relax for as their day of school is over. This is why kids should go to this up and coming pep assembly.

Everyone who has put work into this years assembly wants everybody to go and show some school spirit. Everyone has worked hard and they want to see all the kids they can having a great time at the assembly this Friday at the East Gym of Smoky Hill High School. The head of activities, Scott Cohen  has this to say.

“I am the person who stands out there and talks and tries to get everyone going” as well as “I would say that those who can should go just because it’s nice to show some spirit and I can’t hype up an empty room you know,” says Scott Cohen

At the first assembly Cohen isn’t the only one getting everyone going. The marching band has played for most years in the stands playing great music and trying to have everyone match their energy. This started a long time ago and nothing will be changing this year. The band will be once again making an appearance this year for the assembly. Senior and lead snare of the drum line Leo Gardner has this to say.

“Um we’ll pretty much do what we always do we’ll just be in the stands playing music.” and when he was asked if he was excited for the assembly his reply was: “Very, always it’s something that the band loves to do because we get to show off our skills and play some great music.”

As Leo put in a wonderful way he is very excited to play this year for his peers. These peers also include some new people to our school. This will be the Freshmen classes first pep assembly of their Smoky Hill experience. On the subject of his first assembly freshman Nicholas Corrado of student government stated this.

“Yeah I don’t really know what to expect but I think it’ll be fun.” When he was asked if he thinks other kids should attend he replied with: “I don’t really have to much to go off of but i’d say that yeah everybody should go. It’s never been bad to show school spirit.”

The pep assembly will be taking place on September 14th at 2:15 in the West Gym. Please show up and show your spirit. “go buffs and this years assembly is going to be great if everyone shows up.” said Scott Cohen.
