IMG_1907Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling:

This book is the fourth one in the Harry Potter series. Throughout the first four books Harry Potter goes up against his nemesis Voldemort (or Tom Riddle.) Harry faces obstacles such as saving The Sorcerer’s Stone, overcoming the Chamber of Secrets, and catching The Prizoner of Azkaban. This book is definitely very exciting, and a thriller. It has adventure, magic, and danger. Harry doesn’t take down all these obstacles alone, he has help from his best friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. In the Goblet of fire, Harry has yet another task to take on, entering the Tri-Wizard Tournament. Itś a competition that Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is hosting. Students from Hogwarts and other schoolś can enter to win, but only one from each schools is chosen. This year two students from Hogwarts were chosen, Harry and Cedric Diggory a boy from Hufflepuff.  The competition consists of three tasks, the first task is retrieving a golden egg from a dragon randomly chosen for a competitor. The second task is diving underwater and returning something precious to you. The last task is going through a hedge maze and defeating obstacles in your maze, the objective is to find the Trophy and let it transport you back to the start to win. I highly recommend this book to someone who is interested in series like The Hunger Games or is interested in fantasy/dystopian novels.     fantasy/dystopian novels.

                          Divergent by Veronica Roth:

Divergent is a dystopian novel based on a made up society. The main character is Beatrice Prior (Tris). She is part of a society with faction – each faction stands for something  different. Erudite (er·u·dite) stands for intellect and believes that knowledge is power. Abnegation (ab·ne·ga·tion) stands for selflessness and believes in helping others before yourself. Amity (am·i·ty) stands for peace and believes in nonviolence. Candor (can·dor) stands for truth, and believes in being honest no matter what. Lastly, Dauntless (daunt·less) stands for strength and believes in ordinary acts of bravery that drive one person to help another. People have a ceremony when theyŕe 16 years old called the ¨Choosing Ceremony.¨At the choosing ceremony, people can choose to stay with the faction they were born into or choose to leave their families and join a new one. Beatrice is a girl who was born into Abnegation and feels like she doesn’t belong, so her and her brother (Caleb) transfer to other factions. Beatrice goes to Dauntless, and Caleb goes to Erudite. Beatrice has to go through initiation being the only one from abnegation. She has to train and challenge herself to overcome her fears as she enters this new unfamiliar world. She encounters friendship, loss, romance, and loss. This is an amazing book that inspires you to be different and be more than what people tell you to be.

The One by Kiera Cass:

America Singer is a 17-year-old who lives in a world named Illea, with eight castes. One being the royals or the king and an eight being very poor and unwealthy. America is a five. Her caste are mostly entertainers and so she comes from a family of musicians. In this book there’s also a royal family with a prince who is soon to be a king, Maxon. The selection is a competition designed for one of Illeaś girls to be the queen. You have to be at least 17 to enter. The prince is 19 years old, he gets to decide from a random pool of girls who to choose to be his wife and the future queen of Illea. America is pressured by her mom and her sister May to enter in the selection. America has no interest though because she is dating a six named Aspen. He was even more poor than America and her mom would not approve of him. Eventually, America is convinced to enter The Selection. Her and Maxon Schreave, the prince, go on many adventures together until Aspen is introduced to Maxon. I recommend this book to anyone who likes fiction and love triangle books.

Matched by Allie Condie:

Matched is a book about a young girl, Cassia Reyes, who lives in a corrupt society where they are closely watched and controlled. At the age of 80 all people in that society are killed. At the age of 17 people are matched with their partners and taken to a special ceremony, where they meet them. You can choose to be single or be matched with someone.A rare event takes place at Cassiaś ceremony that affects her future. This book has rebellion, action, and romance in it. Itś a great book to read and I recommend it to those who like trilogies and thrillers.
