Summer is nearby and the signs are around – including the season pass party hosted Elitch Gardens. Elitch Gardens opened Saturday, April 28 to season pass holders, and will be open to the public May 2.

The theme park is celebrating their 125th anniversary by planting over 10,000 pansies throughout the park. “The pansies will definitely add some more color to the park,” senior Austin Granic said.

The park is also opening a new water slide in the Island Kingdom Water Park. The slide, which is over six-stories tall, will be called SlideZilla . This is the first water slide of its kind in Colorado.

“[SlideZilla] is what I’m really excited for. I’ve always liked water slides, and I cannot wait for this new one to come out. I’ll probably go everyday [this summer.]” Granic said.

Summer attractions for season pass holders include seven free concerts, with scheduled featuring artists such as Jake Miller, Debby Ryan, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, and R5.There will also be five dive-in movies at the water park.

Season pass holders do not need to buy tickets in order to gain entry into the park. Instead, the ticket is paid for by purchasing a season pass, which costs $69.99. The season pass pays for itself in two visits. Buy them here at elitchgardens.com.
