Donald Trump Signs Loyalty Pledge

Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump, signed a pledge Thursday, Sept. 3, that promises he will back any Republican candidate, even if it is not him. This may cancel out the idea of a third party candidate entering the race.

Trump stated in the Fox news Republican Debate in July that he would not back the republican nominee if it was not him.

However, the  Republican front-runner made the pledge after meeting on Thursday with the Republican Party chairman, Reince Priebus, who has urged all the party’s presidential candidates to sign a formal loyalty pledge, despite their promise not to run in the event they were not the nominee.

continue to doubt Trump because of his support of Democrats in the past. In  “I have no intention of changing my mind,” Trump said during a news conference in New York City in response. “I see no circumstances under which I would tear up that pledge.”

“He will [break his word]. He’s a Trump. He is selfish and above everyone else in his mind. He is probably going to say something just to gain favor.” Sophomore Daniel Angeles said. Angeles is an Independent.
