A skating event will be held at Southlands in Aurora Colorado at 6155 South Main Street from 5 to 9 on Feb.13th. Band is hosting the event as a fun activity for students to skate around and hang out with or friends or bring dates. This will be located at the pond in Southlands.

“It [the skating event] was a combination of fundraising purposes to help us raise some extra money to support our program, and we thought it would be a fun thing for students in our program and the Smoky

Hill community to just get together and have some fun,” band director Zak Ruffert said.

All students who attend the event need to bring $10.50 per person. This includes all band members as well, and also includes skate rental. Half of the proceeds will go to the Smoky Hill Band Parents Association which supports the band program year round and helps them with funding all of their events.
