My Journey Into Modeling

My dream came true

My+Journey+Into+Modeling

Batina Jombuni, Staffer

As a little girl I always dreamed of being a princess which is really common for most girls.

I would watch NBL ( Nuestra Belleza Latina) and Miss Universe.  Annual International beauty pageants.

Back then, when I would watch NBL and Miss Universe, I wasn’t aware of their goal. I just thought that they would become become Princesses because of the pretty crowns, the roses, and the sashes that they received. I never thought about all the qualities it took to become the best nor the personality that you need.

As get older, I become a bigger fan of NBL but,  Miss Universe isn’t really catching my attention as much.

I’ve learned so much about modeling, like how to do the perfect runway walk, how much posture is important, desirable meals, workouts, tasks, pet peeve breakers, and level of humbleness. It’s not just being pretty and getting a crown, it’s a whole different you and bettering yourself. About  how to become brave, open-minded, professional, humble, great about yourself, and a whole new person.

As I get more engaged, I am telling people I will be in the NBL show by developing how I look and who I am. People tell me “you look like a model” ” I kept it in mind

because even though they didn’t know that I wanted to be a model, they were like pushing me up to follow that path.

Especially my older sister Regina, was  was the main one who got me into modeling. We would always watch the shows that are listed above. Make-up was our thing, as well as different hair designs, colors, fashion and modeling.

She tried signing me up to many modeling industries, but my dad wouldn’t let her because he’s not really supportive.. But when she passed away, I made a promise to her that I would at least try to audition, and if I make it, that I would become the best and achieve our passion in honor of her name.

A couple months ago, I was a the mall shopping and these group of girls (models) asked me to sign up, and see where It goes so I did. And 2 weeks ago, I got a call from Barbizons Industry and they called me for an Audition and I went and turns out that I made it. Believe it or not I wasn’t expecting it but I was happy because I made it into the model industry. And now I just Have to start my journey.
