Accounting Final Project

Students have been working on their final for over a month

Scott Henry’s accounting class has been working on their final since the week of May 2, 2016. But unlike other traditional finals where you answer your questions on a scantron, this final is more like a project.

“I decided to do it like a project because a project is more real world based,” accounting teacher Scott Henry said. “This is what we would actually do in the real world, it’s applicable.”

According to Henry, the final contains everything that a regular test or final would have on it, just project form.

“In the project students go through a month’s worth of business transactions and record where money is going in the business and where money is leaving,” Henry said.

Students have up until finals week to finish the project, but what does that mean for seniors in this class?

“When Mr Henry assigned the project I was already stressed out about it because of my experience with it last semester, It wasn’t like it was hard but it was a lot of work and our last day is Friday,” senior Tahmara Mines said. “But Mr. Henry did tell us seniors that we could finish half of it for full credit since our last day is approaching.”

According to Henry all other students in the class will be expected have the project 100 percent complete.
