Guys and girls can be the complete opposite of each other, I think the whole world can agree with that. Now, because I am a girl, I have always wondered how different it is when a guy likes a girl versus when a girl likes a guy. What if guys had the same question for girl though? Well here is a glimpse of the answer.

Every girl has fallen head over heals for a guy and even I have. It’s so hard to explain the butterflies you get after falling for someone. I try not to fall for guys because I don’t understand the concept of dating in high school, but of course I can’t stop fatal attraction. I guess I have a fear of heartbreak too.

“I have only ever actually liked one guy in my whole entire life. Sadly me and him didn’t work out but here is how the “phase” went. He got my number and that was probably the happiest day ever, I smiled even while going to sleep. Me and him started texting and every time I would get a text from him I would get butterfly’s. I remember I would have to stop myself from replying straight away because I didn’t want him to think I like him. But you know what they say, What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger,” said 11th grader Brooke Leigh.

“Maybe because girls like to play hard to get. I used to dress up everyday to impress him, just so maybe he would compliment me more. I started to get to know him and those butterfly’s kept growing. I think I would catch myself doing plenty of awkward things when we hung out in person. One time I snorted, it was really embarrassing.” Leigh said.

“I was always curious if he liked me as much as I liked him, or if he was just trying to use me. All my friends knew about him and the word got around. I guess I liked the fact people thought me and him would look cute together. I was scared to like him because I didn’t wanna get my heart broken but sadly that is exactly what happen. But you know what they say, What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger,” Leigh said.

A heartbreak is something everyone has to go through but the important part is picking yourself up after the heartbreak. You can’t let life kick you down and not get back up stronger. There is a saying that a break up is worse on the girl in the beginning but as time progresses, it is worse on the guy. That has proven to be true around my life many times,” Leigh said.

“When guys like someone we get all those feelings too, it’s just we don’t show it as often. Although guys are more blunt when it comes to stuff like that. They don’t really like to play “games” and if a guy is playing games with you that means he doesn’t really like you. He is just a loser who is bored with his life. If a guy likes you i’m pretty sure he would make it obvious by his actions,”said 11th grader Quincey Bell.

I never thought that guys could relate to girls more than us girls think. The difference is men are better at hiding it. That is what I am gonna start doing, hiding my feelings like boys so people don’t know my weakness.
