Dumb friends league, Become a volunteer at the Dumb Friends League! When you volunteer at the Dumb Friends League, you are providing love and support for the homeless pets and equines in our care. If you become a volunteer, you’ll be rewarded for your efforts through recognition events and awards.  

According to their website there are over 70 volunteer positions that they offer

National jewish health center, National Jewish Health is an academic medical research facility located in Denver, Colorado specializing in respiratory, cardiac, immune and allergic disorders.According to the website , being a volunteer, “you are invited to consider these volunteer service areas”. Volunteering at this center gives you an opportunity to use your present skills, learn new things , and  explore new job opportunities.

Here are list of some possible volunteer positions

  • Morgridge Academy Foster Grandparent
  • Administration and data entry
  • Medical Records or HIM support
  • Pool rehab assistance
  • Patient Services, including clinic support and customer relations

They do ask that volunteers are able to make a commitment of four hours a week for at least six months (Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm).

According to The Denver Zoo’s website, the volunteers at The Denver Zoo are dedicated to the work they do, from all walks of life, they are all united by their advocacy for the zoo and their passion for animals and conservation. Volunteers play a major role when it comes to supporting Denver Zoo’s mission by enhancing the guests’ experience by connecting them with animals and their environment through their passion, commitment, dedication and knowledge.

Here are the requirements to volunteer at the zoo.

  • Commit to volunteering at Denver Zoo for a minimum of one year, with a minimum of 50 hours of service a year.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Able to attend two days of orientation (Zoo U) on Saturday, August 13th and Sunday, August 14th.
  • Committed to providing our guests with the highest standard of guest service.
  • Passionate about educating people of all ages and background about animals, nature and conservation.
  • Friendly, outgoing and dependable.
  • Available to attend three general meetings annually- typically occur on the first Tuesday and Saturday of the month.
  • Able to pay a $45 application fee which includes one Denver Zoo polo volunteer shirt and Zoo U orientation. (scholarship support is available upon request)
  • Become a Denver Zoo member (scholarship support is available upon request)
