Tuesday morning Jan 19, two Smoky Hill students stole money from the tip jar at the Dunkin’ Doughnuts on Smoky hill road.The two students were both boys, wearing jeans and black athletic hoodies. The two boys pretended to plan out their order when they stole the money out of the tip jar.

“Yesterday, two kids took money from the tip jar when my coworker had to leave the front counter and stock the doughnuts from the back to the front, and that’s when the kids stole the money from the jar.” Marquise Sanford, a Dunkin’ Donuts employee said.

When asked how he felt when this happened Sanford responded with, “Disappointed. We are kind and give free stuff out to be nice. We even gave those two kids a free sandwich before they stole the money.”

The owner and employees at Dunkin’ Donuts will now be taking steps to prevent this type of thing from happening again in the future.

“We will be more alert and keep the jar under the counter. When someone leaves the counter we will tell someone so they can keep an eye on it.” Sanford said.
