The World Wide Web is 25
25 years ago today, the World Wide Web was created by Sir Tim Berners-Lee and was made available to the public with no royalties charged.
The World Wide Web was created through CERN, a physics company. Berners-Lee’s original proposal was rejected because the company couldn’t justify spending time on such a general software.
The web has become such a household name due to the fact that it can be used with any information, on any device, in any language, and you don’t have to ask the creator to change or add information.
There are currently 13 countries limited access or no access to the internet, and only about 40% of all people have access to the internet.
