The teaser of The Wizard of Oz
Come and see the wonderful Wizard of Oz!
Stage manager Hanna Gollan is excited for the “Wizard of Oz” musical teasers because they will be performed in front of peers without any family.
“It’s a super fun show with really great memorable characters and it’s a great take on a classic that everyone knows and loves,” Gollan said.
The “Wizard of Oz” musical teaser will be shown during second and fourth period on Wednesday, February 25 in the Smoky Hill Auditorium. Gollan said that a teaser is a shortened version of a show or performance to give an idea of what the show is about and would be extra practice in front of an audience for the cast and crew.
“We are going to show [the scene when] when Dorothy (Addy Himle) arrives in Munchkinland and her meeting the scarecrow (Phenix Laughlin) the cowardly lion (Eric Paricio) and the tinman (Jordan Neel),” Gollan said.
As stage manager, Gollan is in charge of calling all the cues for microphones, lights, scene changes, and actors’ lines. Gollan said that being in the lights and audio booth is nerve wracking but also exhilarating to know that she has the whole show in her hands.
The official “Wizard of Oz” musical will be performed February 26 through 28.
