With the rumor of a free burrito from Chipotle on the loose, students are puckering up to kiss their Valentine. The rumor is that if customers kiss their Valentine at the register, they will receive a free burrito. This, however, is not true. According to Chipotle’s official Twitter page, Chipotle does not have any promotions planned for Valentine’s Day.

The rumor began in February of 2013 when Qdoba, a Chipotle competitor, offered a similar promotion. Qdoba offered a free entree when a couple kissed at the register last Valentine’s Day after purchasing a first entree.

Some students believe that this is a good idea. Others like sophomore Ashley Turrietta do not think so.

“[It does] not sound very sanitary and people would do it to get a free burrito,” Turrietta said. “They think no one would, but people would to get free food. The company would lose money.”
