Smoky Hill Prom 2021

Smoky Hill’s class of 2021 will be getting a prom exclusively for seniors

Many students in their lives plan on going to their senior/junior year proms. Unfortunately, the class of 2020 didn’t get the in-person senior prom that they wanted. This year only seniors are allowed to attend only their high school prom. Students that currently attend Elevation are also allowed to go to their home schools prom.

This will be the only school dance that Cherry Creek School District has allowed high schools to have during the 2020/2021 school year. Granted both cohorts have only been back together for a month, with maintaining low positive Covid-19 cases.

Prom 2021 is expected to be smaller than Smoky Hill proms in the past, with the guidelines that the high schools have to follow. “I’m hoping that kids will come and are excited about it,” said Scott Cohen, Smoky Hill Activities Director.

Seniors are encouraged to go to their last school dance and try to make the most out of the senior year that they were given. Though only seniors can go to prom everyone is included in the spirit week leading up to the event. Monday, May 10 is a summer fun day with Kona Ice being available after school for $1. Tuesday, May 11 is Twin/Group day. Wednesday, May 12 is culture day. Thursday, May 13 is a success in the future/college day. Friday, May 14 will be class color day.

The theme of the 2021 prom is A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Tickets will be available May 12 and will be $30. Prom 2021 will also include food, games, and a Photobooth. Take advantage of the good coming out of the year we have had.
